It’s been a week where all of my writing was limited to long paragraphs inside of my head.
Those of you who write—I hope—understand what I am trying to say, or, in this case, write. The fact that I am finally opening the Macbook and scribbling out some thoughts at exactly 1744hrs on a Wednesday should tell you that it’s not been a successful week of prose production. The Newslog is due to be “put to bed” by eight p.m. I still need to mow the lawn as the rain has been a faithful fertilizer of the commonly dry, crispy grass-like covering of late July.
While only being away from my house for one overnight, I was able to drive a little over eleven hundred miles in just under four days. With only two hundred of those miles driven alone, most of my inter-head scribbling is a rewrite. I don’t approve of most of it. My focus is drained away by issues we don’t need to chat about here, but I can only say that none of what I thought I might have written has made me smile, laugh, or cry. It just produces a facial expression that indicates I might be bored, but I’m not. I’m just thinking things through.
Interweb-Matt, my personal IT professional, has set up the Newslog to be delivered to you directly every Wednesday night. That said, the way it flows is that the last two posts in my blog are always the written words that are automatically delivered to you. That means if I don’t put something new into the platform, you will receive the same post that you received last week.
This post is the filler, the pablum, or the fluff that will take the place of something that you already have read.
Now, I know that I will receive notes that indicate it’s not a problem if I don’t write something new each week, and I appreciate your kindness. On the other hand, some folks will kindly drop me a note to tell me that they received the same post as they received last week, and, in turn, they will ask me if something is wrong with me, Interweb-Matt, Ellie, or my computer.
That is why I have set out to let you know that the post you will receive tonight (or right now if you just opened this) is not what is written inside my head. But only because I didn’t think it was good enough for put out there and because I have had a lot of stuff going on. I know you understand, and for that, I am thankful.
Next week we hope to get back in the saddle.
Thanks for all your support.
Your friend,
Tim
